For the past 46 years, Leadership San Antonio has proven to be an invaluable connector of diverse people from a variety of industries who become a tight-knit community of business leaders with one common denominator – to propel San Antonio successfully into the future! With more than 1,900 graduates passing through the gates of LSA since 1975, it is very likely you know someone who has experienced what makes this program different than any other.
Although professional development is a priority, it is not the complete aim of LSA. The curriculum is driven by the goals of the LSA Co-Chairs, two proven business leaders representing the interests of the members from both the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, supported by LSA alumni who serve in Steering Committee roles as mentors. The curriculum for each class day is developed, planned, and executed by class members who have shown great aptitude in their own right and now seek to impact the larger San Antonio community. It is an immersive experiential learning model aimed at tackling what challenges San Antonio’s people, economy, quality of life, industries, and more.
This year, led by Co-Chairs Stacy Larson (former Senior Vice President at Frost Bank) and Anne-Marie Grube (Director of Operations at Avante Wealth), LSA will seek a varied group of individuals dedicated to serving our community. Participants of the program will be given the opportunity to develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the San Antonio area. This coming year, LSA 46 will meet in person and will be dedicated to having powerful conversations to deeply understand disparities and challenges in the community and harness collective resources to develop solutions that will have an enduring impact. The focus will be on being proximate to the problems that we face as a city and toward each other, by surfacing the issues and doing a root cause analysis in order to create a more thriving city with lasting and systemic change.
“As a graduate of LSA Class 38, I had the privilege of joining other curious, civic-minded, and community-invested individuals as we developed a greater understanding of our city – its beauty and richness, as well as its challenges,” said Larson. “I am excited to bring a diverse and wide population of leaders together to create a movement for change that will improve the collective well-being of our community and strengthen and grow our economy.”
Each year there is a special focus on the city’s growing industries while highlighting the role both chambers play in the San Antonio business, political and civic communities. The overarching goal is that this exposure will reinforce the importance of getting involved in the community, staying connected, and giving back.
“As a member of LSA 40 and Steering Committee for LSA 43 (LSA 300), I am deeply grateful for the program both on a professional and personal level,” relayed Grube. “I look forward to my involvement as Chair and, collaboratively working with Stacy, to bring a strong group of diverse leaders together as community partners to further enhance our city.”
If you are interested in applying, don’t delay! Also, please share the details with someone you know would benefit from joining the LSA family of business professionals!
